Raavanan --->> Technical delight

The most awaited movie of the year, Manirathnam's magnum opus etc., etc.,
Lots of hype to the movie...... Manirathnam has given us a visual delight with his usual style..... I thought that there would be too much rush and booked tickets yestersday itself..... But when i reached the theatre was disapppointed with the crowd..... Very less the crowd was..... the detailed review as follows.......

Plot:
The plot is a very simple..... The usual Ramayanam story only.... Veera is a leader of a group denoted as a terrorist by SP Dev..... Dev attacks Veera on the day of his sister's marriage.... Spoils it.... the sister ends in police station nd gets molested by the police..... She commits suicide.... Veera seeks revenge by kidnapping the SP's wife.... But finally he falls in love with her..... Wat happens next is the rest of the story.....
My comment: The movie's plot is simple but the way the story is told is what makes the difference..... Its very clear tat Manirathnam is tellin us the life history of a maoist leader..... But the first half is bore nd has many unwanted scenes..... The second half is what matters.... The last 10 mins of the movie were awesome.....

Casting:
Vikram as Veera steals the show..... According to me Vikram has done his best in this movie..... His acting wins over the flaws of other's acting..... His charaterisation is also tooooo good.....
Aishwarya Rai bachan as Raagini, the SP's wife looka a bit aged..... Her acting was not that good..... But she has done some scenes good.....
Prithviraj as the SP didnt impress me tat much.... The usual role....

These r the main characters but vaiyapuri as the transsexual needs special mention.... Karthick too has done good acting....

Technical Comments:
Manirathnam has proved that he is still the best director in India.....
Cinematography by Santosh Sivan is brilliant and has rendered the perfect support for Mani..... His probing lens takes the audience through the thick jungles, the mighty waterfalls and the rough terrains of India. Music and art direction play equally momentous role in Raavanan as its lead actors..... If not for Rahman's songs and background score, Vikram's unrequited love wouldn't have been so painful for us.....
Suhasini's dialogues speak a lot for themselves.... Some of the dialogues make us feel the real emotions ion the movie..... But the dialogues at places was difficult to understand.....

Plus:
Vikram,Camera,Stunning visuals,The storytelling style..

Minus:
The main minus in the movie is that it lacks the feel of a tamil movie..... Also its difficult to understand the dialogues at places.... But the plus in the movie make us forget the minus....

Verdict:
I totally loved the movie.... Its not a movie for masala buffs....
It's a pure cinematic retreat spanning across dense jungles..... It's a treat to those who feel nd enjoy the movie with its technical aspects..... For those who seek only enjoyment the movie is nothing more than a mere mokkai..... The climas deserves special mention.... I'll give a 4/5........
